Growing as a Soldier in Christ's Army

The imagery of a soldier, used to describe a follower of God's, is prevalent in both the Old and New Testaments. Jesus makes it clear that His kingdom is not of this world and He is not calling His followers to take up literal arms and fight. But He does ask us to use this imagery to better understand the need to be prepared for the spiritual battle that each of us will be engaged in.
