The word "imprecatory" is used to describe a genre of Psalms in which the writers call for God's wrath, justice or diving judgment to be brought down on a perceived enemy or wicked person(s). At times, these kinds of psalms can seemingly be in conflict with the teaching that we are to love and pray for our enemies. But God doesn't rebuke those who come to Him with these types of prayers. And their presence in the book of Psalms challenges us to consider their place in our prayer lives today. Questions for us? Send us a Text Message!
