Three key women surface repeatedly in Jesus’ story. I’m guessing all three were at the last supper. Mary - who was all heart all the time. Martha - all head all the time. These two give us the spectrum of personhood… maybe womanhood more specifically. Ordinary Janes for Jesus can do so with the sweet sensitive caring hearts, as well as the definitive forethought and plans. Perhaps what stands out the most, is that Jesus’ most faithful follower had to be his mother. What a great picture of being so ordinary and so called - from start to finish, the faithfulness of this mother is a picture we can all strive for.
