Repairs: Good Intentions. Too Much Racial Tension (Acts 10)

It’s been two years since George Floyd’s death and the spotlight that was put on racial tension in our nation.  Where are we at?  How far have we come?  Where must we still keep moving forward?

It’s really really odd to note Peter’s racial tension in Acts a couple/few years after Jesus.  A clear comission to go to all nations, Jerusalem/Judea/Samaria/Earth, and several first hand stories of Jesus breaking the Jewish mold and into a Gentile world.  But still he’s pointing fingers at “unclean” people and making them jump through hoops to be more like him (Jewish) before he’d accept them.  Did he just feel helpless, or inept, on apply the gospel to so big of a social issue like race relations?  Was there personal issues of race he hadn’t applied the gospel to himself?  There’s certainly also the confrontation between he and Paul that he just kept to his same-race bubble on purpose.  At any rate, repairing the relationship with Jesus, always brings a repair in loving our neighbor as ourselves (especially Samaritan neighbors).
