Pete just said “I’ll die for you Jesus,” and now Jesus is like, “Couldn’t you even cut a few hours of sleep to pray for me - that’s what I really need from you.” One simple thing he’s asked to do! Pete had the best intentions and lacked follow-through.
Not sure if this talk will try to revive better follow-through, or just empathize with the fact that there will be times of bad follow-through. The big point that will definitely be made: is that Jesus expects us to get back into conversation with God, back into prayer, that it’s not your bold promises that repair your relationship with him -- it’s prayer.
