“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
- Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

This week, Pastor Cammie led us through scripture to see our deep need for rest and for community. This wasn't just a Mother's Day message, this was a message for every week of our lives. God created us to thrive in rhythms, and He invites us "to live freely and lightly" by following his invitation of rest (Sabbath). This is not our natural bent, to slow down, but when we accept God's invitation together, we find that the slower life is a better life.

"I'm not perfect. I'm actually in a season where I'm in that place. I'm burnt out. I'm exhausted. I'm running on fumes. And, I think this was more for me today than anyone else. I really do. I think that God asked me to scrap the message on Friday night...because I needed it. So, if this is you today too, let's do this together. Let's walk through this together. Let's encourage each other while it's still called 'today.'"
