The Cost: (Prequel) The End is Near (For a While Now) - Mark 13

Sometimes, many times, we want the Jesus on the clouds more than the Jesus on the cross.  And in our eagerness, to skip to the end, we are liable to skip over the cross-carrying ways of Jesus here and now. We will be tempted to settle for any imitation that skips us ahead to the power and glory part and ignore the living sacrifice part. 

If you're not carrying a cross daily, sacrificing for others and denying yourself, you are not living in the "watchfulness" that Jesus has called us to.
