When Cindy Alghawi competed in her first triathlon, she thought the only thing waiting for her at the end of the finish line was a sense of accomplishment and hugs from her parents and boyfriend.

A woman named Marlene Willis has been volunteering for the LAPD for more than 20 years. The 90-year-old, known around the station as “Mrs. Willis,” was recently honored for her decades of service.
