100. Why do Bad Things Happen to Good People? Our Family's Personal Story of Navigating our Daughter's Scoliosis Journey

100. It's time to share something with the world. It's a message of hope and healing. It's a story of God's goodness, regardless of any certain "outcome."

So, here it is…

Our family has been walking through a heavy situation these last few months. 

In July, on the day after her 13th birthday, it was discovered that our daughter, Chloe, had scoliosis. In simple terms, it means her spine had a pretty severe curve to it. The world would deem this as "bad news," and to be honest, it's not anything we wanted to hear. It's not a journey we hoped our child would ever have to be on. 

After some tears, a lot of hopeful prayers and meeting with a Pediatric Orthopedic Specialist at the University Hospital in September, we got the toughest news of all…

Chloe needed to have spinal fusion surgery to correct the scoliosis. 

We felt shocked, sad, scared, hopeful, relieved (somehow?), and determined to walk the long road ahead hand in hand with our girl and partnered with the Lord. 

In October, Chloe underwent surgery. The procedure was successful and she has been home on the road to recovery for several weeks now. 

That's the story in a quick, little snippet. But what I just shared is NOWHERE near the whole story. God moved mountains in Chloe's life and ours throughout this journey. He showed us new and awesome things. He spoke to our hearts in powerful ways. 

I'm sharing the whole story, complete with every last detail, every little God-wink, the struggles, the blessings and everything in between today on the podcast.
